Jeannette spent her formative journalist years writing about successful CEOs and major money managers--mostly men. As a financial writer she learned to burrow into the details and connect the dots of stories not spelled out, and then ask the CEO the right questions. “How did you know that?” he would invariably respond, surprised that an outsider had figured out issues the company had placed behind a smoke screen.
Writing and researching current events with the instant gratification of a CEO’s confirmation of her skills was excellent preparation for historical analysis.
